Breaking Boards of VT has been providing boards to martial artists since 2002. We know what makes good breaking boards. Our boards are custom cut from clean, dry, eastern white pine that breaks easily, allowing you to practice board breaking technique safely for your hands and feet.  Since 2002 we have built a strong customer base and are always looking forward to building new relationships.  We strive to provide clean, dry, breakable boards that keep our customers coming back for years to come.

OUR BOARDS:

We offer two thicknesses of boards, ½” boards and 3/4” boards, often referred to as 1" boards, in a variety of commonly used sizes.  Our ½” boards are designed to be thin enough for kids and beginners to break on their own and are a great way to inspire confidence.  3/4” boards are used by more skilled martial artists in competition, in demonstrations to inspire enrollment and for testing the skills learned in the hours of practicing their art form.

Our breaking boards are cut so that the grain of the wood runs parallel with your striking hand.  While we can’t guarantee our boards don’t contain knots, our boards are well known for being unknotted, consistent, reliable and well dried.  For a clean break, always break boards with the grain and avoid striking any large knots.

ARE THEY 3/4" OR 1"?

Some of you have noticed our 1" board is now sold as 3/4".  Why is this?  In short, most timber is milled and planed to give it a finished look, reduce splinters and provide a more consistent size and finish. As with all lumber, because of this extra milling, a 2x4 no longer measures a full two inches by four inches. Instead, a "2x4" is really only 1 1/2" by 3 1/2".  Along those same lines, the boards we have always sold as 1" boards are actually only 3/4".  Same great board, just a more accurate name for them.

RETURN POLICY:

It is our goal to send you dry breakable boards.  If you are not happy with your boards you may contact us and we will make every effort to make you a satisfied customer.  Please note that we do not guarantee boards with no knots.

If a delivery is unclaimed and the boards are returned to us we will either charge or refund your credit card accordingly for the shipping costs charged by UPS to get them back to us minus the cost of the boards. We will not refund you for the original shipping costs.

SHIPPING POLICY:

We keep a decent inventory and will do our best to ship your order within a few days from the time that it is placed (excluding holidays and weekends); however sometimes orders can take up to a week to process and get into the hands of UPS.  We will make every effort to communicate a longer handling time in the situation of a large order or extenuating circumstances.

We ship UPS.  If we are shipping to a business address it is your responsibility to make sure that your hours are clearly posted on the door.  If you have special instructions, such as to leave a package next door, those instructions should be clearly noted for the driver, and you should never assume that the driver already knows in case it is a fill-in or new driver.  Should the boards get returned because no one is there to claim them return shipping costs would become the responsibility of the customer and charged to your credit card.  If you live in an area where a signature is not required and packages can be left outside your door we are not responsible for a driver leaving your dry boards out in inclement weather.

UPS will not refund shipping charges for circumstances beyond their control such as inclement weather.
